“The Two Worlds of Mr. Chen,” shedding light on the central problem of poverty in China today, the situation of migrant workers in Chinese cities and of people in the villages they have left, through extensive documentary footage, shot for our series by a distinguished Chinese documentarian, of a migrant worker in Beijing, his family, there and in his home village, and other villagers, some of whom have witnessed the course of Chinese history since Mao’s era.
